I was the poster child for poor posture. I’d sit for 8+ hours a day, hunched over my screen, and wonder why my back hurt so much. Then I discovered that the solution wasn’t better sitting—it was standing.
The Setup
I bought a convertible standing desk that goes from sitting to
standing height. I also got an anti-fatigue mat and adjusted my
monitor height. The setup cost me $500, but it was the best investment
I've ever made.

The Results
Within a week, my back pain was gone. I had more energy, better focus,
and I was actually more productive. Standing while coding felt natural
and energizing.
The Routine
I stand for 2-3 hours, then sit for 1 hour. I repeat this cycle
throughout the day. The key is movement and variety—your body wasn't
designed to stay in one position for hours.
