I discovered that the best code I’ve ever written came from moments of deep meditation. Not the kind where you sit cross-legged, but the kind where you’re fully present with your code.
The Breathing Code
I practice mindful breathing while coding. Inhale as I think about the
problem, exhale as I write the solution. It sounds simple, but it
transforms the entire coding experience.
Code meditation: where mindfulness meets development
The Present Moment Bug
When I encounter a bug, I treat it as a meditation object. Instead of
getting frustrated, I observe it with curiosity. What is this bug
trying to teach me? The answer is usually profound.
The Daily Practice
I start each coding session with a 5-minute meditation. I clear my
mind, set my intention, and then begin coding with the same focus and
presence I bring to meditation.
